The day prior, during an interview on Rumble, he openly endorsed a Ulez vigilante group, stating, “I urge them to dismantle every camera, and I will be participating… I have close ties with several members, and I will be present with my angle grinder.”
The rightwing commentator was arrested at his residence by the police following statements that seemed to encourage people to vandalize Ulez cameras. A video posted by Fox’s Reclaim party on Twitter depicted him sitting on his living room sofa while individuals dressed as police officers with protective gloves moved around him.
In the video, Fox remarked, “Look how many coppers there are in my house, look at them coming to steal everything, take everything out of my house. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the country that we live in,” and he concluded with a thumbs-up to the camera.
According to The Guardian, in an official statement that did not explicitly name Fox, the police reported, “On Wednesday, 4 October, officers arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of conspiring to commit criminal damage to Ulez cameras and encouraging or assisting offenses to be committed. He was arrested in Stockwell and has been taken to a south London police station, where he remains in custody.”
Following the arrest, GB News, the broadcasting company, announced the termination of its employment relationship with Fox. This decision came after Fox’s suspension for making misogynistic remarks about political journalist Ava Evans on the Dan Wootton Tonight show.
