Hang Mioku is a former South Korean model and singer who was born on July 8, 1963, making her zodiac sign Cancer.
Talking more about her, she became so obsessed with plastic surgery that it took a significant toll on her face as well as her whole career. On a positive note, it resulted in making people aware of plastic surgery and its side effects and not to be obsessed with it.
But under what procedures did she go through that ultimately hampered her face? And is she still alive? Here is everything you need to know!
Is Hang Mioku still alive?
Hang Mioku hasn’t died, and she is still alive as of this writing. Thankfully, the plastic surgeries and what she did afterward to her face didn’t take her life.
When Mioku hampered her face, her story was televised on Korean national television. And when people saw it, the concerned ones were kind enough to support her financially and send her well wishes.

With the financial support she received, she was able to undergo recovery surgery and a total of 10 operations. After doing all that, the doctors were able to remove 60 grams of silicone, other foreign substances, and oil from her face with an additional 200 grams from her neck.
Unfortunately, the damage she had done to her face was so bad that the surgeries and operations weren’t enough to bring back her original looks. Besides, when her before and after pictures are compared, one couldn’t even tell if she is the same person.
As of now, it’s reported that Mioku is alive and doing well. Back in May 2013, DailyMail had reported that she was working at a recycled clothes shop called The Beautiful Shop. However, her current profession remains unknown.
Hang Mioku started doing plastic surgery at 28
Before Mioku became so obsessed with plastic surgery, she was a fine-looking woman who was also working as an uprising model in the South Korean fashion industry. Her old pictures show that she had bright eyes and a beautiful smile.

However, all of that changed when she decided to undergo plastic surgery at the age of 28 and became obsessed with it. After having her first-ever plastic surgery, Mioku moved to Japan for more surgeries.
She liked how her skin became smoother and softer after plastic surgery. However, after multiple plastic surgeries, her face had become noticeably enlarged. And the doctors ultimately decided not to perform any more plastic surgeries on her.
They had warned her that if she went through more plastic surgery or injected any more silicone on her face, then it would get subjugated. However, the doctor’s objection wasn’t going to stop her.
She somehow bought a bottle of silicone and a syringe and self-injected the silicone on her face. And she ran out of silicone, and as silicone was expensive, she opted for cooking oil.
And Mioku’s usage of cooking oil on her face turned out to be the nail in the coffin, resulting in a permanent disfiguration of her face. Soon, her cheeks and forehead became swollen and scarred.
The damage to her face grew more and more, so much so that even her parents weren’t able to recognize her. DailyMail reports that the local children used to call Mioku a “standing fan” as her face had become larger than her body.
Thankfully, the well-wishes and financial support from thousands of people were able to help her in some way. However, it wasn’t enough to bring back her original look.
