Joey King is a well-known American actress. She is most acknowledged for her roles in Netflix‘s The Kissing Booth movie series, Ramona and Beezus, and Wish Upon

She has been acting since she was four and has made her way to the top of her field. At four, she landed her first acting role in a cereal commercial.

Likewise, she was recently in the spotlight for her role as Prince in Bullet Train, starring Brad Pitt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Brian Tyree Henry. Some of her other recent acting gigs are The In Between, The Princess, and Hamster & Gretel.

Joey King has a Jewish root from her mother’s side 

Joey was born in Los Angeles, California, on July 30, 1999. Terry and Jamie King are her parents. Her father is of English descent. 

Joey’s mother, however, is three-quarters Ashkenazi Jewish and one-quarter Italian Catholic through her paternal grandparents. Joey has identified herself as “part Jewish and part Christian.”

While talking with Paste Magazine about her character in Wish I Was Here, Joey said, “I’m Jewish, but I’m not really, really religious. Grace is. Getting to go deeper into that was really cool.”

Similarly, in an interview on Tommy2, the actress shared her Jewish heritage. When asked about her holiday plans, the actress shared that she likes to celebrate the holidays with her Jewish family. 

 She said, “My holiday plans… well, I’m going to be flying. I’m going to go to Disneyland with my cousins and so that’s going to be really, really fun.”

“And I’m part Jewish and part Christian, but I’m mostly Jewish, so I’m planning on celebrating the holidays with my family, my grandma, my Dad, and everyone. So I’m so excited for the holidays, it’s… I’m happy!”

“I’m really struggling with gifts for my family. I got everybody something small, but now I gotta get everybody something a bit bigger,” she concluded her statement.

Joey King has two siblings who are also in the industry

Joey grew up with two elder sisters, Kelli King and Hunter King, both actors. Kelli was born in Los Angeles, California, on March 22, 1992.

She is known for appearing in the movie A Boyfriend for Christmas. Kelli hasn’t done much in the entertainment business, although she has had a few guest appearances and minor roles on television, including Grey’s Anatomy and The Winner.

Hunter was born in Ventura County, California, on October 19, 1993. She has appeared in films such as A Girl Like Her. Her other roles include Adriana Masters on Hollywood Heights, Clementine Hughes on Life in Pieces, and Summer Newman on The Young and the Restless.

Joey loves spending time with her sisters. She talked about how she likes to go out to dinner with them after a long hard working day. 

“After an intense, hard-working day I like to go home … maybe go out to dinner with my sisters and watch a movie with them. I like to go to the beach. I like to read a lot. I like to play piano,” she said in the interview.
