Lead vocalist Hayley Williams hinted that Paramore would return in 2022 with their first brand-new album after almost five years.
Fans of the pop-punk band have been waiting impatiently for the group to release a new album since their last album, After Laughter, in 2018.
However, on September 5, 2019, Paramore revealed they were taking a break after continuously working hard for 15 years via Instagram.
Williams, along with guitarist Taylor York and drummer Zac Farro, explained that they were taking a break to have a moment to just “be” and also encouraged fans to do the same.
But the break is now over. Williams confirmed that P6 is finally here and that Paramore will make a comeback.
Paramore’s comeback after almost five years
Deuxmoi received a DM from one of her fans asking about Paramore’s 6th album surprise drop. The DM read, “Anon please can confirm Paramore’s new album on the 9th.” Since then, followers have been wondering about Paramore’s new album.

This time Deuxmoi is correct as Paramore confirmed to release their sixth album. Initially, Williams hinted at the band’s sixth album’s likely return to a more guitar-driven sound on May 11, 2020, as per NME.
However, in January 2022, it was confirmed that the band had started recording their upcoming sixth studio album. Williams was anxious about the reunion of Paramore after a long break. But soon after they first met, she, York, and Farro reconnected at a Nashville studio space.
Williams also disclosed that the new Paramore album was influenced by Bloc Party. On her music radio show, Everything is Emo, she can be heard praising ‘Silent Alarm’ by Bloc Party.
She said, “From day one, Bloc Party was the number one reference because there was such an urgency to their sound that was different to the fast punk or the pop punk that were happening in the early 2000s.”
The lead singer exclusively told NME that the band’s next album would be a contrast to their last album, After Laughter.
The band also announced that they would be appearing at the When We Were Young festival alongside My Chemical Romance on October 22, 2022, making it their first live performance since September 2018.
On July 15, Paramore disclosed via their official Instagram account that they would embark on a tour in Fall 2022.
Fans’ Reaction towards Paramore’s comeback
As soon as Paramore confirmed the news about their upcoming album, fans could not believe it. They are happy and surprised at the same time as one of the fans wrote, “Sixth Paramore album in the works. Somebody pinch me. I am dreaming.”
Another fan tweeted, “I am not exaggerating when I say Paramore dropping their sixth album would cure all my problems.”
The third tweet read, “go to area 51, you will find Paramore’s sixth album there i bet.” Now that the sixth album is confirmed, fans are eagerly waiting for the album’s release date.
Williams, via Twitter, passed a message on November 26, 2021, saying, “Besides, Paramore can’t be ’on a break’ forever now can we? See you sometime next year?”
Now that it is 2022 and Paramore has already announced its tour, the sixth album might also be right around the corner.
